Privacy policy

Passbinder is an insurance licensing exam prep app and website operated by [Legal business name] (“we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and how you signed in (email code, Google or Apple). Google and Apple may share your name and email with us.
• Study details: the exam and state you are preparing for, your exam date and how much time you want to study each day.
• Study activity: your answers, whether they were correct, how long they took, lessons and flashcards you complete, mock exam results, missed questions and your progress.
• Exam outcome (optional): whether you passed and, if you choose, section scores or a score report you upload, for example to claim the pass guarantee.
• Problem reports: the text you send when you report a problem with a question.
• Purchases: whether you have a Pass Pack and when it ends. Payments are handled by Apple, Google or our web reseller Paddle; we never receive your card details.
• Waitlist (website): your email, state, license line, when you plan to take the exam, whether you are a candidate or recruiter, and how you found us.

The app also keeps a copy of your study data on your device so it works offline. Study reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not track your location or your contacts.

How we use it

• To run your account, sync your progress across devices and build your study plan, practice sessions and mock exams.
• To send emails you need: sign-in codes, account and purchase messages, pass guarantee decisions and, for the waitlist, a launch email.
• To improve our questions, using answer statistics across learners (for example, to spot questions that are too hard or unclear).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools today. If we add crash reporting or analytics, we will update this policy first.

Who processes it for us

• Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage (servers in Canada).
• Resend: sending email.
• Apple and Google: app stores, in-app purchases and Google/Apple sign-in.
• RevenueCat: confirms in-app purchases.
• Paddle: reseller and payment processor for website purchases.
• Cloudflare: hosts this website.
• Expo: delivers app updates and notifications.

They process data only to provide their service to us. Your data may be stored or processed in Canada and the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and study data while your account is open. If you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as purchase records. Waitlist emails are kept until launch or until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

• Delete your account and data in the app at any time.
• Turn study reminders off in Settings.
• Unsubscribe from any email using its link.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by emailing help@passbinder.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each user can read only their own data, and uploaded score reports are stored privately and seen only by our review team. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a sign-in email that only you can access.

Age

Passbinder is for adults preparing for a licensing exam. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
